The 2020 Third Quarter-End Fix Pack (Q03) is now generally available (GA) for installation. This quarter-end fix pack applies ONLY to environments at the following release levels:

• eCMS v.4.1 Service Pack 3, Fix Packs 5 and 6

Do you need this update?

1. Is your eCMS environment at a release level specified above?
   • Answer No: You do NOT need this update; it cannot be installed into your environment.
2. Do you report quarterly to the USA Federal or State government?
   • Answer No: You do NOT need this update. Only the USA Form 941 is affected.
   • Answer Yes – You probably need this update. Please review the Release Notes to determine whether or not you do need it.

Installation of this quarter-end fix pack (Q03) is not dedicated; users can continue to use eCMS while the update is being installed.

For hosted customers: The 2020 Q03 Fix Pack will be installed into all applicable environments by Computer Guidance no later than the end of the day on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. To request an earlier installation (or request no installation), please submit a ticket with your request. After installed, About eCMS release level will show Q03.

For non-hosted customers: The 2020 Q03 Fix Pack is not customer installable. Please submit a ticket requesting the installation of the 2020 Third Quarter-End Fix Pack if you need it.

Microsoft has announced that on October 15, 2020, it will no longer be supporting TLS 1.0 or 1.1, the encryption methodology used to communicate with Office 365.

Computer Guidance has created an update to utilize the supported TLS 1.2 encryption methodology. Non-hosted, On-premise eCMS customers who use Microsoft’s Office 365 to send emails via eCMS need to submit an incident to Computer Guidance to request the update. Please check with your local IT resources to see if your system will be impacted by this change. Email configuration information is defined in eCMS via the Admin à Application Installations à Default eForm Output Locations menu item. The update will be a dedicated install and will require dedicated system access to install. Please perform this check promptly to ensure this is adequate time to schedule and install the fix before the October 15, 2020 deadline. Please plan accordingly with your team and if you have any questions, let us know.

Paid Sick Leave (PSL)

We are excited to announce that we have completed a training video and product documentation for our enhanced Paid Sick Leave feature.

Various state and local agencies now require that Sick time benefits be provided to employees that work within those jurisdictions and those benefits are displayed on check stubs with regular pay cycles.

In summary, the features allow flexibility to print on check stub the Sick Hours Available, taken, and accrued. The accrual rate master allows the set up to be company, state, or local specific.  We have provided IDI listing for reports.  We have new options that provide access to maintenance files.

To participate fully in these features, you need to be at release eCMS v.4.1, Service Pack 3 and Fix Pack 6 or higher.  The training video gives you the beginning to end steps to use this feature. After reviewing all documentation, if you feel additional training/guidance is needed, please submit an incident to schedule Professional Services to assist you.

Year-End Fix Packs For your planning purposes, the 2020 Year-End Fix Packs will ONLY be provided for the release levels shown below. If you are using an unsupported release level and have not already done so, please submit a ticket requesting an eCMS upgrade to a supported release as soon as possible. Release Levels Supported:

• eCMS v.4.2
• eCMS v.4.1 SP3 Fix Pack 8 6 or later
• eCMS v.4.1 SP2 Fix Pack 8
• eCMS v.3.7 SP12 Fix Pack 4
• CMS v.3.4.3 SP14 Fix Pack 3

NOTE to eCMS v.3.7 and CMS v.3.4.3 Customers: The 2020 Year-End updates will include only changes mandated by law, if any. For questions or concerns, please contact your Customer Success Manager. Please watch for further communication in the coming weeks.

Dear Customers,

We are actively monitoring all announcements by the United States government in regard to changes to payroll tax, payroll processing, accounting, and reporting due to the various COVID-19 relief programs.

We are aware of the most recent executive order that defers the withholding of the Employee Portion of Social Security Tax through the end of the year.

At this time we do not have adequate information from the IRS to make programming changes to eCMS.

If you are planning on implementing this program at your organization, please open a support ticket and we will further assess the requirements and the demand.
